Pictory's user manual describes starting from a script, URL, video or PowerPoint presentation. [1] Those routes are useful for a publisher with an existing article library or an educator with approved teaching material. The source provides a factual baseline against which the new video can be reviewed.
The question is what the audience needs from the shorter format. An article can let a reader pause at a table; a narrated video has to establish the relationship in sequence. Repurposing therefore requires more than reading the article aloud. Decide what to preserve, simplify or move into a supporting resource before judging the automatically assembled result.
